I was trying to imply that the unseen drawing's subject was on the table at the left of the visible image, which was supposed to look like a box of french fries but I added that rather late in the process and it may not come across as well as it ought to!

Yeah...though Astro Boy has many different universes and continuities. Being sold to the circus was something from the original 60's series. Astro was stolen in the 80's series. And the 03 series, Tenma is just the straight up antagonist. Still I love him despite how shitty he is.

I drew the character on the reference I was given and added a cheap space background! Real depth takes more effort.

Beautiful drawing, I might also call it concept art since you've mentioned the name of the creature, and man every piece of yours looks like it came from a movie or videogame or anything big, it's gorgeous.

Thank you for appreciating it! However there is very little conceptual here; the background is just silly nonsense that I made up in the moment, and I only draw the central figure here in the absence of anything interesting happening. But sometimes inspiration can come from disorder and the mundane, so even something like this is worth keeping around.

Wow, I like the style of it, is it digital? what kind of tools did you use?

It is digital! I just used a pencil brush for everything and then added some noise to the canvas :)

Haha...no, it's a play on the circus act where a bunch of clowns come out of a tiny car, it's sort of a magic act I guess? (I've never actually seen it, except maybe in cartoons). So they were all stuffed in a tiny coffin.
